Congress Messe Innsbruck (CMI) has recently received two awards in recognition of its long-standing membership of major international business and congress networks. Both the International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA) and the German Chamber of Commerce in Austria (DHK) honoured CMI’s 50-year affiliation. The awards underscore the importance of international cooperation for the development of Innsbruck as a conference and business destination.
Innsbruck, 22/04/2026. Congress Messe Innsbruck recently received two special honours: the International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA) and the German Chamber of Commerce in Austria (DHK) recognised the company’s 50-year membership of their networks. “The awards from the ICCA and the DHK are a sign of our long-standing commitment. We are delighted to be part of strong international networks,” emphasises Christian Mayerhofer, Managing Director of Congress Messe Innsbruck. “Exchanging ideas with partners worldwide is a vital foundation for identifying developments at an early stage and bringing fresh impetus to the city as a venue for conferences and business.”
The International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA) is one of the world’s leading networks in the international congress and conference industry, connecting organisers, destinations and service providers across the globe. Membership provides access to international contacts and market information, thereby supporting the acquisition and development of congresses. Congress Messe Innsbruck has been active in the congress sector since the 1970s and has continuously developed the Innsbruck location over the decades in collaboration with partners. Integration into networks such as the ICCA helps to attract international events to Innsbruck and to further develop existing formats through dialogue with the industry. The honour was bestowed during the 2025 ICCA Congress in Porto, which was attended by over 1,500 delegates from 81 nations. The ICCA General Assembly took place at Congress Innsbruck in 1997.
The German Chamber of Commerce in Austria has been promoting economic exchange between Germany and Austria for many decades. As part of this network and through its events, Congress Messe Innsbruck helps to facilitate bilateral encounters and exchange between business, academia and industry. Its long-standing membership underscores CMI’s close ties to the German-Austrian economic area and its role as a host of international events.
