CMI honoured for 50 years of membership in international networks

Congress Messe Innsbruck has been honoured for 50 years of membership of the ICCA and DHK, thereby strengthening its international network.

Congress Messe Innsbruck has been honoured for its 50 years of membership of the International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA) and the German Chamber of Commerce in Austria (DHK). Both organisations have thus recognised CMI’s long-standing involvement in international networks. “These awards are a sign of our commitment. Exchanging ideas with international partners helps us to identify developments at an early stage and bring fresh impetus to Innsbruck as a venue,” emphasises Managing Director Christian Mayerhofer.

International networks in the congress sector
 

The ICCA is one of the leading global networks in the congress and conference industry, connecting organisers, destinations and service providers worldwide. Membership provides access to international contacts and market information and supports the development and acquisition of congresses. Congress Messe Innsbruck has been active in the congress sector since the 1970s and has worked with partners to further develop the venue over the decades. Its integration into international networks helps to attract events to Innsbruck and to further develop existing formats. The award was presented during the 2025 ICCA Congress in Porto.

Networking in the German-Austrian region
 

The German Chamber of Commerce in Austria promotes economic exchange between Germany and Austria and offers companies a platform for cooperation and dialogue. As part of this network, CMI helps to facilitate encounters and exchange between business, academia and industry.

This long-standing membership underscores Congress Messe Innsbruck’s close ties with the German-Austrian economic area and its role as a host of international events.
